Brains Sports

The practise of sports is one of the main pillars of our schools. Through frequent participation in different sports we show our students how to take part in disciplined activities that develop an awareness of a healthy attitude towards their own physical well-being. By taking part in sports and developing healthy habits they are choosing positive options.

In Infants Education (1-5 years old) we focus on fine motor skills. It is through movement that a child discovers and takes in the world surrounding them. Therefore, our Nurseries dedicate a period a day to fine motor skills where the children use a series of materials with attractive shapes and sizes, providing them with the stimulation to help their development. Swimming is part of their weekly physical education from the age of one (optional or obligatory depending on the centre). In Primary and Secondary we introduce our students to different sports during their daily Physical Education period.

In Primary (6-12) we provide a continuation of the education received in the Infant School. This is the phase during which most changes take place and movements become harmonious. We focus on developing their agility, precision, flexibility, balance, resistance, speed, ability to catch and throw, etc.

In Secondary (12-18) our students experience great physical and hormonal changes such as growth in height and weight, bone growth and lung development, the heart gains weight and size and physical strength and resistance also increases. This is why our effort is aimed at these changes and the development of abilities. In our exceptional facilities our students become aware of their own movements and capabilities, as well as learn how the demands of daily training and competition (which in Secondary becomes more serious) can promote their physical and mental well-being.

At the end of the school day at 16:30, the Sport Schools begin their training and activities, which finish at 19:00. At the end of these activities, the students are taken back to Madrid by our school bus service.
