Guidance Counselling Department (GCD)

We are aware that each student is different, which is why we try to personalize and adapt our Educational Project to the needs of each student. In order to do so, our schools have a Guidance Counselling Department which, together with teachers, individually detects the educational needs, learning difficulties or relationship problems among classmates, helping students to find the best solutions to solve these issues.

Furthermore, the GCD offers guidance and assistance to parents regarding their child’s personal and academic evolution as Brains students. Moreover, this Department also supports tutors, guiding them in their tutorial tasks, as well as assisting them with the development of our Values Programme. In order to do this efficiently, the GCD has continuous general assessment as well as individual counseling when necessary.

The general duties of the GCD are as follows:

  • > Support tutors in their jobs.
  • > Identification and evaluation of learning and adaptation difficulties and subsequent orientation.
  • > Orientation for families.
  • > Academic and vocational guidance: group tests.
  • > Development and introduction of a coexistence plan (Download).
  • > Development and introduction of school rules.

This department is formed, in each school, by psychologists, speech therapists, psychomotor specialists and support staff, who are available to students throughout the entire school day.
