“We know that Brains Schools guarantee success with an international dimension for all our students. Every student is our main priority.”
Welcome to School
Palabras de María Hita de Dios
Presidenta del Consejo de Administración de los Colegios Brains
The founding of the Brains Schools was an innovative and challenging educational project started in Madrid in 1979 by Manuel Sánchez and me, María Hita. Three decades have since passed, during which time the Brains Schools have earned a reputation for excellence in bilingual education.
The first centre opened in Ventas, which was followed by María Lombillo Primary School and the construction of our schools in La Moraleja. More recently, the Nursery School in Conde de Orgaz opened in 1999 and the Brains School in Las Palmas inaugurated its Primary School in 2010.
During the academic year, 2011/2012, the Infants section was expanded in our school at the Moraleja, by opening facilities for pupils from the age of three. They will follow a British model and there will be two qualified teachers working together in each classroom so as to achieve the best possible results in English. This initiative has the full support of our Senior Management team and our teaching staff, and is backed up by 32 years of experience in Education. We know that if we do our work well, our results will be excellent.
Our Department of Pedagogic Development gives its full support to this new initiative as a means of improving the academic achievement of our pupils in the long term. By ensuring that our students become bilingual in Primary School and trilingual in Secondary School, we aim for nothing less than international excellence. We are currently a candidate school for the option of studying International Baccalaureate in English. Once this process is successfully completed our pupils will be able to choose from two academic paths, both of which prepare students for university at either the national or international level.
Since last year, 2010, a new Board of Directors, consisting of my children and myself, has been at the helm of the Brains Schools. As the President of the Board of Directors, I would like to assure you that we are doing our utmost to ensure continuous improvements. We trust that the Brains Schools will be a guarantee of success with an international dimension for our pupils. Each and every one of our pupils is our most important project.
