Primary School students interpreting a play in English.
“The education we provide is varied and motivating, respecting individual differences, thus ensuring that our students enjoy learning.”
Primary Education
We have two primary schools in Madrid, one in the Arturo Soria neighborhood and another in La Moraleja, a Madrid suburb. We also have a new primary school in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. They provide education for children between the ages of 5 and 12.
The classrooms are light, spacious, soundproofed and fully equipped, in a child-friendly environment. They incorporate all the New Technologies (ICTs) including wireless Internet. In addition, the schools have the extra facilities needed to implement every aspect of the Brains curriculum. In Reception Class and throughout Primary, the school day has seven periods; three are for Spanish, three for English and one for PE.
The British Foundation Stage and the teaching of reading and writing in both languages enable our youngest pupils to move into Primary, completely ready to begin our bilingual programme, where 50% of the school day will be taught in English by native teachers.
The education we deliver is varied and motivating. It respects individual differences and as a result our pupils have fun learning. During these Primary years, we create good work and study habits and we develop personal responsibility, all of which is very difficult to learn at a later stage if not acquired now.
The aim of our educational system as a whole is to reduce school failure to a minimum, develop self-esteem and self-confidence, and promote respect and tolerance towards others.
The curriculum developed by the school takes into account the Spanish Ministry of Education directives, as stipulated under current legislation. However, it also devotes 50% of the school day to the learning of English and complements this personalised programme that guarantees a solid, perfectly bilingual grounding when our pupils move to Secondary.
The school day, from 09:00 to 16:30, is followed by sports clubs and extra-curricular activities (Chinese, Drama, Art, Ballet, Music, Kumon, Judo, Paddle Tennis, etc.).
